CBI launches AI-powered Notice Verification System ABHAY

Why in News?

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched ABHAY (AI-Based Helpbot for Authentication of Your Notice), an AI-powered real-time notice verification system aimed at protecting citizens from rising cyber fraud and digital arrest scams.

The initiative enables citizens to verify whether notices purportedly issued by the CBI are genuine or fake through the official CBI website.

What is ABHAY?

What is a Digital Arrest Scam?

Importantly, “digital arrest” has no legal basis under Indian law.
