Maiya Samman Yojana Jharkhand: Eligibility & Benefits 2026

Updates · General Studies

Maiya Samman Yojana — Jharkhand's Rs. 2,500/month scheme for women. Eligibility, age, income limit, form, documents, beneficiaries, UPSC analysis.

Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana is a direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme for women run by the Government of Jharkhand, under which every eligible woman aged 18 to 50 years receives Rs. 2,500 per month (Rs. 30,000 per year). Launched in August 2024 under Chief Minister Hemant Soren (JMM-led coalition), the scheme has rapidly become the single-largest women-focused cash transfer programme in Jharkhand's history, covering approximately 56 lakh beneficiaries.

The scheme was originally launched at Rs. 1,000 per month and was increased to Rs. 2,500 per month in December 2024 after the JMM-led alliance returned to power in the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly election, where the scheme was widely seen as a decisive political factor.

As of 2026, the monthly benefit remains Rs. 2,500, disbursed by Direct Benefit Transfer. The key change this year is on the beneficiary list: the state has made continued payment conditional on completing beneficiary verification (satyapan) and e-KYC, and installments for unverified or ineligible names are being held back until verification is done through the Anganwadi centre or the official Maiya Samman portal. Applicants and existing beneficiaries should confirm their verification and e-KYC status to stay on the payout list.
