Trump’s AI accord: White House Accord on Super Intelligence

Why in News?

On September 29, 2026, the U.S. President convened leaders of six frontier AI companies (Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, xAI, and Nvidia) to sign the one-page White House Accord on Super Intelligence, subtitled Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities, to promote safe AI development and public trust. 

An Executive Order directed U.S. federal agencies to replace the term “Artificial Intelligence” (AI) with “Super Intelligence” (SI) in official discourse, signalling an assertive push for American technological supremacy.

Four Pillar Safeguards of the Accord:

The voluntary agreement calls on participating AI companies to introduce several layers of safeguards around their systems. 

The accord is described as “morally binding”, although it is not legally enforceable. Some of the measures could eventually be turned into laws or regulations in future.
