PM Kisan Status Check: eKYC, Registration Number and Payment Details

PM Kisan status is the screen that tells a farmer whether an instalment has reached the bank account and, if it hasn’t, where it’s stuck. It lives on pmkisan.gov.in under “Know Your Status” in the Farmers Corner, and it now opens with your registration number and an OTP on your registered mobile. Older guides that tell you to search by Aadhaar or bank account number describe a screen that has since changed.

Every PM-KISAN payment depends on three checks that the government lists together: land records seeded on the portal, a bank account linked with Aadhaar and eKYC completed. The status page shows the payment details and a year-wise eKYC record, so it’s the first place to look when the ₹2,000 doesn’t show up.

What the PM Kisan Status Page Shows

The Know Your Status page shows whether each instalment was paid and where it went. After you verify with the OTP, it lists:

• payment status
• bank name
• UTR number, the bank’s transaction reference that you can quote at the branch
• payment mode
• the account credited and the date it was credited
• a financial year wise eKYC record

The scheme pays ₹6,000 a year in three equal instalments of ₹2,000. The portal counts beneficiaries by four-month period (April to July, August to November, December to March) and shows 9,44,65,646 farmers paid for April to July 2026-27.

The latest facts on the release:

• The 23rd instalment was released on 20 June 2026 from Tarakeswar in Hooghly district, West Bengal.
• It sent over ₹18,880 crore to about 9.44 crore farmers, more than 2.18 crore of them women.
• Across 23 instalments, more than ₹4.46 lakh crore has been paid since the scheme began on 24 February 2019.

Who Can Use the Status and eKYC Services

Any farmer registered under PM-KISAN can check PM Kisan status, look up a lost registration number and complete eKYC. The portal marks eKYC as mandatory for every registered farmer.

Being registered isn’t the same as being paid. The portal carries a notice that the department has flagged suspected cases under the scheme’s exclusion criteria and withheld their benefits until physical verification is complete. Its two examples:

• farmers who acquired land ownership after 1 February 2019
• cases where more than one member of the same family receives the benefit, such as husband and wife, or an adult and a minor

If your status shows a stop and you fall in either group, the fix runs through state verification, not the portal. The full exclusion list, which covers institutional landholders, income tax payers, pensioners drawing ₹10,000 or more a month and others, is in the portal’s Scheme Exclusion section.

Documents and Details You Need

Most PM-KISAN services need only a number and a phone that receives OTPs. The catch is that two different phones can matter: the mobile registered with PM-KISAN for the status check, and the mobile linked to Aadhaar for OTP eKYC. When they aren’t the same phone, attempts fail.

How to Find Your PM Kisan Registration Number

The registration number is the key to the status page, and the portal will look it up for you.

1. Open https://pmkisan.gov.in/ and click Know Your Status in the Farmers Corner.
2. Click “Know Your Registration No.” on that page.
3. Choose whether to search by mobile number or Aadhaar number.
4. Enter the number and complete the verification the page asks for.
5. Note the registration number shown and keep it with your bank passbook.

How to Check PM Kisan Status

The PM Kisan beneficiary status check takes a minute once you have the registration number.

1. Go to https://pmkisan.gov.in/BeneficiaryStatus_New.aspx, or click Know Your Status on the homepage.
2. Enter your registration number.
3. Request the OTP. It goes only to the mobile registered with PM-KISAN.
4. Enter the OTP.
5. Read the account details and the year-wise eKYC record.

The PM-KISAN mobile app and the Kisan eMitra chatbot show the same status. A farmer without a smartphone can check beneficiary status on the 24×7 IVRS helpline 155261.

To see a whole village rather than one account, open the Beneficiary List on the homepage and pick the state, district, sub-district, block and village.

How to Complete PM Kisan eKYC

There are three ways to finish PM Kisan eKYC: OTP on the portal, biometric at a CSC or State Seva Kendra, and face authentication on the app. Whichever route you use, the result shows in the beneficiary status after 24 hours.

The best default is face authentication if anyone in the house has a smartphone. It doesn’t need an Aadhaar-linked mobile, which is where OTP eKYC usually fails, and it doesn’t need a trip or a fee, which is the cost of the CSC route. The app gained this feature in 2023 so farmers could skip OTP or fingerprint verification.

OTP-based eKYC

This is the quickest route when your Aadhaar is linked to a mobile you have in hand.

1. Visit https://pmkisan.gov.in/.
2. Click eKYC at the top right of the homepage.
3. Enter your Aadhaar number.
4. Submit the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile.

Face authentication on the app

This route suits a farmer whose Aadhaar mobile is old or belongs to someone else.

1. Download the PM-KISAN app and the Aadhaar Face RD app from the Google Play Store.
2. Log in with your PM-KISAN registered mobile number.
3. Open the beneficiary status page.
4. If eKYC status shows No, tap eKYC, enter your Aadhaar number and give consent for the face scan.
5. Scan your face. eKYC is complete once the scan succeeds.

Biometric eKYC at a CSC

This is the fallback for a farmer with no smartphone and no working Aadhaar mobile.

1. Go to your nearest Common Service Centre or State Seva Kendra with your Aadhaar card and Aadhaar-linked mobile. You can find a CSC at https://locator.csccloud.in/.
2. The operator runs Aadhaar biometric authentication with your fingerprint.
3. Pay the ₹15 convenience fee.

The official eKYC note says this facility runs through over 4 lakh CSCs and various State Seva Kendras.

The homepage Farmers Corner handles most fixes without an office visit. The options listed there:

Common Errors and Fixes

When PM Kisan status shows a problem, the cause is usually one of these.

• OTP not arriving on the status page. It goes to the mobile registered with PM-KISAN. Change it through Update Mobile Number.
• OTP eKYC failing. Your Aadhaar isn’t linked to an active mobile. Use face authentication, or update your Aadhaar mobile first; the Aadhaar update guide covers what can be done online.
• eKYC done but status still says No. Wait 24 hours before trying again.
• Instalment withheld after years of payments. Read the portal’s suspected-exclusion notice. Land acquired after 1 February 2019 and two payees in one family trigger physical verification.
• Paid on the status page, not in the account. Take the UTR number to your bank. Payments run through NPCI’s Aadhaar-based payment system, so the branch is the office that can trace the credit.
• Land records not seeded. Seeding is done by the state from its land records, which is why land records management matters so much to this scheme. Ask the state nodal officer listed on the portal.

Helpline and Grievance

The official channels are the portal’s Helpdesk query form, CPGRAMS and the IVRS line.

• Helpdesk Query Form on the homepage: choose Raise Grievance or Check Status, enter your registration number (or the temporary ID if your registration is new or pending), describe the problem in up to 500 words and attach a document if needed.
• CPGRAMS, the central public grievance system, also takes PM-KISAN complaints.
• 155261, a 24×7 IVRS helpline for checking beneficiary status.
• State nodal officers, searchable from the portal’s Contact Us page.
• Kisan eMitra, the AI chatbot, which answers in 11 languages and shows application and payment status.

What the PM-KISAN Portal Can’t Do

The portal shows, verifies and corrects your own data. It can’t overrule the checks behind the payment.

• It can’t make an ineligible farmer eligible. States verify and upload beneficiaries.
• It can’t fix land records. Those belong to the state revenue department.
• It can’t release a withheld instalment before state verification ends.
• It can’t repair a bank account problem; the branch has to.
• It can’t promise a date for the next instalment. Release dates are announced by the government.
• It doesn’t cover state top-ups such as Maharashtra’s Namo Shetkari Yojana, which run under their own rules.

Offline help sits in two places: a CSC for biometric eKYC and help with the forms, and the state nodal officer listed on the portal for verification and land seeding.

Do the eKYC once, keep the registration number next to the passbook, and check your PM Kisan status a week after every release. A stale mobile number or an unfinished eKYC can sit unnoticed for months, and a two-minute check after each instalment is the cheapest way to catch it.
