Sahara Refund Portal Login: Claim, Resubmission and Status Check
CRCS Sahara Refund Portal login at mocrefund.crcs.gov.in — eligibility, claim filing, ₹10 lakh resubmission limit, status check and the 31 Dec 2026 deadline.
The CRCS Sahara Refund Portal at mocrefund.crcs.gov.in is the only official website where depositors of the four Sahara Group cooperative societies can claim their money back. There is no fee, no agent and no offline form — you log in with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number, submit your deposit receipts, and the money comes directly to your Aadhaar-seeded bank account. The claim and resubmission limit now goes up to ₹10 lakh, and the Supreme Court has allowed disbursement to continue until 31 December 2026.
What the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal Is
CRCS stands for Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies, the authority under the Ministry of Cooperation that supervises multi-state cooperative societies. The portal was launched on 18 July 2023 to return money that crores of small depositors had parked in Sahara’s cooperative societies and could not withdraw for years.
The refunds are paid from money transferred out of the Sahara-SEBI refund account on the orders of the Supreme Court. The Court first allowed ₹5,000 crore for this purpose and later ordered that an additional ₹5,000 crore be transferred, extending the disbursement window to 31 December 2026. As of 20 January 2026, ₹8,429.42 crore had been disbursed to 39,46,550 depositors, according to the Ministry of Cooperation.
Two things make this portal different from most government portals. First, everything hangs on Aadhaar: your Aadhaar must be linked to your mobile number (for OTP login) and seeded to your bank account (for payment). Second, there is no username or password to create — every login is a fresh Aadhaar-plus-OTP verification.
Who Is Eligible
Only genuine depositors of these four Sahara Group cooperative societies can claim:
- Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. — deposits made before 22 March 2022
- Saharayn Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd. — deposits made before 22 March 2022
- Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. — deposits made before 22 March 2022
- Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. — deposits made before 29 March 2023
You must have outstanding dues receivable from the society — that is, money you deposited and never got back. In addition:
- Your Aadhaar must be linked to your mobile number.
- Your Aadhaar must be seeded to your bank account (this is where the refund lands).
- You must have your membership number, deposit account number and the original deposit receipts or passbook.
If your deposits were made through Sahara India Pariwar’s other arms (like the two SIRECL/SHICL bond companies handled separately under SEBI), those are not covered by this portal. This portal is only for the four cooperative societies listed above.
How to Log In and File a Claim
The process runs in two stages on the depositor portal: registration, then claim submission.
- Open mocrefund.crcs.gov.in and click Depositor Registration.
- Enter the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar and your 10-digit Aadhaar-linked mobile number, then the OTP you receive.
- After registration, click Depositor Login and repeat the Aadhaar + OTP verification.
- Give consent for Aadhaar verification (the portal fetches your name and date of birth from UIDAI).
- Enter your claim details: society name, membership number, deposit account number and deposit amount — one row for each deposit certificate. Add all your deposits in a single claim; you cannot file a second claim later.
- Upload the deposit certificate or passbook pages for each entry.
- If your total claim is ₹50,000 or more, you must also furnish your PAN.
- Download the auto-filled claim form, paste a photograph, sign it, scan it and upload it back.
- Submit. Note the Claim Request Number (CRN) shown on the acknowledgement screen.
The refund is credited only to the bank account seeded with your Aadhaar. If a claim is approved, the amount appears in that account — you do not need to submit bank details separately.
Resubmission Window and the ₹10 Lakh Limit
Payouts began cautiously — the first tranche paid up to ₹10,000 per depositor, later raised to ₹50,000. In February 2026 the Ministry of Cooperation raised the ceiling sharply: claims and resubmissions are now being accepted for amounts aggregating up to ₹10 lakh, and resubmitted claims are to be processed within about 45 working days.
The resubmission facility matters for anyone whose earlier claim failed or was partly paid. Common reasons include mismatched names between Aadhaar and society records, unreadable receipt uploads, or missing PAN. If that happened to you:
- Log in again with Aadhaar + OTP on the same portal.
- Open your existing claim — the portal flags the deficiency against each entry.
- Correct the details or upload cleaner documents, and resubmit.
You do not file a brand-new claim; you fix and resubmit the old one. With the disbursement deadline set at 31 December 2026, resubmitting early is sensible — processing takes weeks, not days.
Documents You Need
- Aadhaar card (linked to mobile and seeded to your bank account)
- Membership number and deposit account number of the society
- Original deposit certificates or passbook (scanned copies for upload)
- PAN card (mandatory if the claim is ₹50,000 or more)
- Claim form with photograph and signature (generated by the portal, signed and re-uploaded)
Keep digital copies handy — storing Aadhaar and PAN in DigiLocker makes uploads easier and the copies are legally valid.
How to Check Sahara Refund Status
There is no public status-tracker page; status is visible only inside your login.
- Go to mocrefund.crcs.gov.in and click Depositor Login.
- Verify with the last 4 digits of Aadhaar, mobile number and OTP.
- The dashboard shows your claim status against the CRN — submitted, under verification, deficiency (resubmit), approved, or amount credited.
Also watch the Aadhaar-seeded bank account itself; approved amounts are credited there directly. If the portal shows “approved” but the money has not arrived, confirm with your bank branch that Aadhaar seeding (NPCI mapping) is active for that account.
For help, the CRCS Sahara refund helpdesk numbers are 011-20909044 and 011-20909045, and the portal lists a toll-free line on its contact page.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the official website for the Sahara refund?
The only official website is mocrefund.crcs.gov.in, run by the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies under the Ministry of Cooperation. Any other site, app or agent claiming to process Sahara refunds is unofficial, and you should never pay anyone to file your claim.
How much money can I get back from the Sahara Refund Portal?
Claims and resubmissions are currently accepted for amounts up to ₹10 lakh per depositor, raised from the earlier ₹50,000 ceiling in February 2026. You receive what you actually deposited and are owed, up to that limit, subject to verification of your receipts.
What is the last date for the Sahara refund?
The Supreme Court has extended the disbursement window to 31 December 2026. File or resubmit your claim well before that — verification and payment take several weeks.
My claim was rejected earlier. Can I apply again?
Yes. Log in to the same portal with Aadhaar + OTP, open your claim, fix the flagged deficiency (wrong details, unclear documents, missing PAN) and resubmit. Resubmitted claims are targeted for processing within about 45 working days.
Why has my approved refund not reached my bank account?
The refund goes only to the bank account seeded with your Aadhaar via NPCI mapping. If your Aadhaar is not seeded, or is seeded to a closed account, the credit fails. Visit your bank branch, get Aadhaar seeding activated, and the payment is reprocessed.
Is PAN compulsory for the Sahara refund claim?
PAN is compulsory only if your total claim is ₹50,000 or more. Below that, Aadhaar and your deposit documents are enough.
Can I file a claim without deposit receipts?
No. The portal requires the deposit certificate or passbook for every deposit you claim. If your receipts are lost, contact the society’s branch records through the helpdesk numbers (011-20909044 / 011-20909045) before filing.
