The NSP Scholarship 2026 application starts on the National Scholarship Portal, but NSP is not one scholarship with one universal last date. It is a common portal for participating central and state schemes, each with its own eligibility rules, documents, verification stages and schedule.

Before NSP, the same student might apply to a state minority scholarship, a central pre-matric scholarship, and a UGC fellowship — each through different offices, with different forms, timelines, and bank details. Common Issues and Troubleshooting

Duplicate Applications

NSP's Aadhaar-based deduplication blocks duplicate applications — you cannot apply for two scholarships for the same course in the same year if both use the same Aadhaar. Students who try to apply to both the state scheme and a central scheme for the same course will have one application rejected.

Institute Not on NSP

If your college or school isn't registered on NSP, your application can't be verified. Institutions must register on NSP before students can apply. Push your institution's administration to register if it hasn't — this is the institution's responsibility.

Bank Account Issues
