KPSC Thulasi is the Kerala Public Service Commission’s one-time registration portal, the place where every Kerala PSC candidate creates a profile, applies for posts and downloads admission tickets. It lives at thulasi.psc.kerala.gov.in and is reached from the Commission’s website, keralapsc.gov.in, through the One Time Registration Login. People search for KPSC Thulasi when they want to register for the first time, log in to “My Profile”, submit an exam confirmation or get a hall ticket.
The most common misunderstanding is that applying for a post is enough to sit the exam. It isn’t. For any post with a written, OMR or online test, Kerala PSC asks you to submit a separate confirmation from your profile within a fixed window, and the Commission says it will reject applications from candidates who don’t confirm; without it, no admission ticket is generated. This guide covers the portal itself, not the exams or syllabus.
KPSC Thulasi at a Glance
Thulasi is the Commission’s own software, in use since the one-time registration system began in 2012. For the exams, syllabus and selection stages, see our main Kerala PSC guide; here are the portal basics from the Commission’s instructions.

What Thulasi Does and Who Needs It
Thulasi replaced post-by-post paper applications with a single profile. You register once, store your personal details, qualifications, photo and signature, and then apply for any notified post with a few clicks. The Commission’s FAQ adds that the same login is used to download hall tickets and see results.
The profile also carries everything you’ll claim later. Weightage and preference claims, such as differently abled, ex-servicemen, sports or NCC, have to be added in the profile’s Declarations section before you apply, because the Commission’s instructions say a claim not marked in the application isn’t considered for that post.
How to Register on KPSC Thulasi
New candidates start from the New Registration link. The Commission’s OTR instructions describe the flow in four short stages, and you must register only once.
- Open keralapsc.gov.in, click One Time Registration Login, then New Registration (Sign Up).
- Enter your basic details: name, date of birth, gender, father’s and mother’s names, religion, caste and an identity document. Click Save & Proceed.
- Enter your address, email and mobile number. Click Save & Proceed.
- Upload your photograph, read the instructions, tick I agree and click Next.
- Upload your signature.
- Check every detail on screen. Use Print Registration Details to keep a copy, then click Submit.
Your registration is complete only after Submit. Choose a User ID and password you’ll remember, because they’re the only way into the profile.
Photograph and Signature Rules
The photo rules cause more rejections than any other part of registration, so it’s worth getting them right the first time:
- Photo: 150 x 200 pixels, at most 30 KB, front facing with a light background.
- Name and date on the photo: your name and the date the photo was taken must be printed at the bottom of the photo.
- Validity: a photo that meets the rules stays valid for 10 years from the date of upload.
- Signature: 150 x 100 pixels, at most 30 KB, clear and legible.
Use Resize Photograph/Signature on the Thulasi home page if your scan is the wrong size.
How to Log In to KPSC Thulasi My Profile
Login takes three fields. Enter your User ID, Password and the Access Code shown on screen, which is case sensitive, and click Log In.
Once inside, the profile menu shows these sections: My Profile, Requests, Aadhar Linking, Notifications, My Applications, Confirmation, Admission Ticket, Profile Messages, Announcements, My results, Service Verification, Medical Previlege and Online Exam Rehearsal. Most of what you’ll do happens in Notifications, Confirmation and Admission Ticket.
Forgot Password or User ID
The portal’s Password Management Policy locks an account after three consecutive failed logins. To unlock it, use Forgot Password?, which resets the password through OTP authentication; the FAQ says you’ll need your User ID and date of birth. A forgotten User ID can’t be recovered online: call the help desk during working hours and give the details they ask for.
The policy also sets password rules worth knowing: at least 8 characters with an upper-case letter, a lower-case letter, a number and a special character, not one of your last five passwords, and a change at least every six months.
How to Link Aadhaar With Your Profile
When you open Notifications, the profile checks for Aadhaar. If it isn’t linked, you’ll see a prompt to link it as early as possible.
- Click Link Aadhar now.
- Enter your Aadhaar number and name.
- Tick the declaration consenting to Aadhaar-based authentication.
- Click Link with Profile.
You can click Link Later and go on to the notifications, but linking early saves trouble. If your Aadhaar name differs from your profile, correct the Aadhaar first; our Aadhaar card update online guide covers that.
How to Apply for a Post on KPSC Thulasi
Applying happens entirely inside the profile. The steps follow the Commission’s own “how to apply” instructions.
- Click Notifications. Active notifications appear on the Summary of Active Notifications page, grouped as Statewide Direct General, Statewide Direct SR, Statewide Direct NCA, Districtwise Direct and so on. If you know the category number, use the quick apply box.
- Click Check Eligibility against the post. If you qualify, Apply Now becomes active. If not, you’ll see INELIGIBLE, and Why I am Ineligible explains the reason, such as age, gender or a missing qualification.
- If you hold an equivalent or higher qualification than the one listed, use Apply Using Equivalent or Higher.
- On Verify before submitting, enter the name and date printed on your photo and tick the declarations about the photo and signature. Click Next.
- On Fill-in your application, answer the question on qualification as per the notification, pick the matching qualification and check your declarations.
- Choose your Preferred District and Taluk for writing Examination.
- Click Preview Application, tick the final declaration and click Submit Application.
There’s no application fee. Print the application from your profile for your records, and quote your User ID whenever you write to the Commission. Once submitted, an application can’t be deleted or changed, so the preview step is your last chance to fix it. Certificates proving your qualification, experience, community and age are produced only when the Commission calls for them.
Confirmation and Admission Ticket
This is where most candidates lose an exam. Under the standard clause in Kerala PSC notifications, if a written, OMR or online test is held for a post, you must submit a confirmation for writing the exam through your one-time registration profile.
- Confirmation window: the periods for submitting confirmation and for downloading admission tickets are published in the Commission’s examination calendar, and you’re also told through your profile and the registered mobile number.
- No confirmation, no exam: the Commission rejects applications of candidates who don’t confirm within the stipulated period.
- Admission ticket: only confirmed candidates can generate and download the admission ticket, which opens in the last 15 days before the test date.
- Entry: only candidates who have downloaded the admission ticket are allowed into the exam.
To confirm, log in, open Confirmation and follow the on-screen prompts, which ask you to verify with an OTP. When the window opens, download the ticket from Admission Ticket. Check your communication address before confirming, since the exam centre district is tied to it for many posts.
How to Track Applications and Results
After you submit, the profile shows the post with the status Applied, and you get an SMS if you gave a mobile number. Open My Applications to see every post you’ve applied for and to print an application again. Results and later updates reach the same profile through My results, Profile Messages and Announcements.
Common Errors and Their Fixes
Most Thulasi problems are predictable:
- Photo rejected. Resize it to 150 x 200 pixels under 30 KB and make sure your name and photo date are printed at the bottom.
- Account locked. Three wrong passwords lock it. Reset through Forgot Password with OTP.
- Showing INELIGIBLE. Read Why I am Ineligible. Add a missing qualification to the profile, or use Apply Using Equivalent or Higher if it applies.
- Qualification or university not listed. The FAQ says to choose the outside-Kerala university option and give details in remarks. A course you haven’t finished can’t be added yet.
- Weightage claim missing. Add it under Declarations in the profile before applying; it can’t be added after submission.
- Missed confirmation. There’s no admission ticket without it. Track the exam calendar and your profile messages.
- Two registrations. Register only once; use the help desk to recover an old User ID instead of creating a new profile.
For anything the portal can’t answer, the help desk numbers above work during office hours, and the Commission’s email is kpsc[dot]psc[at]kerala[dot]gov[dot]in.
KPSC Thulasi Today
Thulasi has added steps as the Commission tightened its process. Aadhaar linking now appears as a prompt before notifications, the confirmation requirement is written into each notification, and the profile now carries an Online Exam Rehearsal section. A Commission erratum dated 10 February 2026 restated the confirmation and admission ticket clause for a Police Department notification, showing it’s still the standard rule.
Every state commission runs a similar one-time registration system; compare the TNPSC, WBPSC and APPSC guides. If you’re aiming at Kerala’s top state service, read our guide to the Kerala Administrative Service next.
