Rythu Bharosa is Telangana’s crop investment support scheme: the state pays landholding farmers Rs 12,000 per acre a year straight into their bank accounts, in releases timed to the two crop seasons. Run by the Department of Agriculture, Rythu Bharosa replaced Rythu Bandhu from 26 January 2025 under a government order of 10 January 2025, and its official site is rythubharosa.telangana.gov.in. Farmers come to it with three questions: am I eligible, has this season’s money been released, and why hasn’t it reached me?
Two confusions trip up most searchers. First, there are two schemes with this name. Andhra Pradesh ran its own YSR Rythu Bharosa from 2019, and that scheme has since given way to Annadatha Sukhibhava-PM Kisan; this guide keeps the two states apart, with Andhra Pradesh in its own section. Second, the “Rythu Bharosa login” on the Telangana site is for agriculture officials, not farmers. There is no public status page on it, so a Telangana farmer checks payment another way, explained below.

From Rythu Bandhu to Rythu Bharosa: What Changed
Rythu Bharosa keeps Rythu Bandhu’s idea and changes the rate and the land that counts. Rythu Bandhu, formally the Agriculture Investment Support Scheme, began in Kharif 2018 under G.O.Rt.No.231 of 4 April 2018 at Rs 4,000 an acre per season. A 2019 order raised that to Rs 5,000 an acre per season from 2019-20, which is the Rs 10,000 a year the new scheme improves on.
| Point | Rythu Bandhu (2018 to 2024) | Rythu Bharosa (from 2025) |
|---|---|---|
| Rate | Rs 4,000 an acre per season (2018-19), then Rs 5,000 an acre per season | Rs 12,000 an acre per year |
| Land counted | All pattadar land in the revenue data | Only cultivable land registered in Bhu Bharati (formerly Dharani) |
| Forest-rights holders | Added by G.O.Rt.No.280 of 23 April 2018 | ROFR pattadars eligible under the 2025 GO |
| Land excluded | Not separately listed | Non-cultivable land; the cabinet named mining hills, road land, land converted to real estate or industry, and land the state acquired |
The cultivable-land rule is the real change. Under Rythu Bandhu, a plot that had stopped being farmed could still draw money. When the cabinet approved the new rate on 4 January 2025, it said revenue officials would hold gram sabhas in every panchayat to show which lands qualify.
One point needs care. The government order fixes the amount per year, and the official releases speak of Rs 12,000 an acre; neither publishes a separate per-season figure. The money reaches farmers in two seasonal releases, one for Vanakalam (the kharif or monsoon season) and one for Yasangi (the rabi or winter season).
Rythu Bharosa Release Dates and Instalment Status
As of 3 November 2026, official Telangana government releases document three payment cycles at the new rate. The releases give dates and amounts but don’t always name the season, so the season column below follows the calendar: June and July fall in Vanakalam, March and April in Yasangi.
| Cycle (season by calendar) | Release | What the government reported |
|---|---|---|
| June 2025 (Vanakalam) | From 16 June 2025 | Rs 9,000 crore to 70 lakh farmers, covering 1.40 crore acres, within 9 days |
| March to May 2026 (Yasangi) | Launched 22 March 2026 at Narmetta, Siddipet district | Rs 9,000 crore promised within 45 days; Rs 5,700 crore paid by 20 April 2026, with Rs 3,300 crore more due the next month |
| June to July 2026 (Vanakalam) | From 30 June 2026 at Shilpakala Vedika, Hyderabad | First phase Rs 2,482.02 crore to 41.37 lakh farmers; Rs 9,000 crore to 73.30 lakh farmers within nine days, closing on 10 July 2026 |
The March 2026 cycle was paid in stages, not in one go, and the official releases checked for this guide don’t state a completion date for the last Rs 3,300 crore. For the next Yasangi release, no date had been announced in official sources by 3 November 2026. Searches for a “release date 2026” usually mean this next instalment; watch the Telangana government’s press releases rather than dates on unofficial sites.
At the 10 July 2026 meeting in Khammam district, the state put its total Rythu Bharosa payments over 30 months at Rs 36,135 crore.
Who Is Eligible for Rythu Bharosa
Eligibility follows the land record. Under G.O.Rt.No.18, you qualify if you are:
- a pattadar (registered landowner) whose land is recorded as cultivable in the Bhu Bharati portal;
- a holder of a patta under the Recognition of Forest Rights Act (ROFR).
The land is what gets excluded, not the person. Plots recorded as non-cultivable, and the categories the cabinet listed (mining hills, road land, converted land and land acquired by the state), don’t count. Since the record comes from Bhu Bharati, a sale, inheritance or partition must show there before the new owner can be paid; our Bhu Bharati guide covers land details search and mutation.
Landless agricultural families aren’t covered by Rythu Bharosa itself. The cabinet announced a separate scheme for them, Indiramma Aatmeeya Bharosa, at Rs 12,000 a year.
Documents Your Agriculture Extension Officer Needs
You don’t apply on the portal yourself. The Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) for your cluster collects and uploads your details. The portal’s Rythu Bharosa Bank Details Collection Form asks for:
- district, mandal and village;
- farmer’s name and father’s or husband’s name;
- Aadhaar number and pattadar passbook (PPB) number;
- mobile number;
- bank name, branch, account number and IFSC code.
The AEO signs to confirm the details were checked and uploaded. The Forms menu also carries an Aadhaar consent form in Telugu.
How to Check Rythu Bharosa Status in Telangana
The Telangana portal’s Login box (User Name, Password, Captcha) is for department staff, and the site has no farmer-facing status search. Here is what works instead:
- Check your bank account. The money arrives by direct benefit transfer, so a passbook entry or account statement is the first proof.
- Check your land on Bhu Bharati. Search your survey number or passbook number and confirm the land shows in your name.
- Call your AEO or Mandal Agriculture Officer. Open Contact Us on rythubharosa.telangana.gov.in for the mobile-number lists of DAOs, ADAs, MAOs and AEOs, and ask whether your record and bank details are on the payment list.
- Escalate to the District Collector if the officer can’t fix it. The GO makes Collectors responsible for implementation and grievances in their districts.
People searching “status check by Aadhaar” are often thinking of PM-KISAN, which is a separate central scheme with its own status page. Our PM-KISAN status and e-KYC guide explains that check.
Common Problems and Their Fixes
Most missing payments trace to one of these causes:
- Land not in your name on Bhu Bharati. A pending mutation after a sale or inheritance keeps you off the list. Complete the mutation first.
- Land shown as non-cultivable. Ask the AEO to verify; if the classification is wrong, the correction runs through the revenue record.
- Bank account closed or changed. Give fresh details on the Bank Details Collection Form through your AEO.
- Season not fully paid yet. Releases are staggered over days or weeks, as the March 2026 cycle showed, so a missing credit early in a release isn’t always a rejection.
- Wrong scheme checked. Telangana’s Rythu Bharosa and the Centre’s PM-KISAN pay separately; one arriving says nothing about the other.
Andhra Pradesh: YSR Rythu Bharosa and What Replaced It
This section covers Andhra Pradesh only. The schemes share a name with Telangana’s but have a different law, rate and portal.
YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan ran in Andhra Pradesh from 15 October 2019 under G.O.Ms.No.96 of 19 September 2019 and G.O.Ms.No.113 of 26 November 2019. The state agriculture department’s note on the scheme gives these terms:
- Rs 13,500 a year per farmer family: Rs 7,500 from the state and Rs 6,000 from the Centre’s PM-KISAN.
- Three instalments: Rs 7,500 in May (including Rs 2,000 of PM-KISAN), Rs 4,000 in October (including Rs 2,000 of PM-KISAN) and Rs 2,000 in January.
- Landless SC, ST, BC and minority tenant cultivators, including ROFR and endowment land cultivators, got the full Rs 13,500 from the state budget.
After the change of government in 2024, the budget of 11 November 2024 announced investment support through Annadatha Sukhibhava-PM Kisan. The budget speech of 28 February 2025 promised Rs 20,000 a year to farmers under the scheme. The speech of 14 February 2026 reported that in 2025-26 the state released the Rs 20,000 benefit, amounting to Rs 6,660 crore, to 46.86 lakh farmer families.
Unlike Telangana, Andhra Pradesh’s scheme has a public status check. On annadathasukhibhava.ap.gov.in, open Know Your Status, select the Financial Year, enter the Aadhaar Number and the captcha. The result lists the status, remarks, payment status, bank details and amount. For land records in that state, see our Meebhoomi guide.
| Point | Telangana Rythu Bharosa | AP Annadatha Sukhibhava-PM Kisan | PM-KISAN (Centre) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amount | Rs 12,000 per acre a year | Rs 20,000 a year per farmer family | Rs 6,000 a year per family |
| Basis | Acreage of cultivable land | Family | Family |
| Linked to PM-KISAN | No, paid separately | Yes, runs with PM-KISAN | Central scheme |

Why Rythu Bharosa Matters Beyond Telangana
Paying per acre is the scheme’s defining choice. It sends more money to larger holdings and nothing to tenants who don’t own land, which is why Telangana needed a separate scheme for landless families. Andhra Pradesh pays per family, and the Centre’s PM-KISAN pays a flat Rs 6,000 per family. Rythu Bandhu was one of the state schemes that came before PM-KISAN, and the per-acre against per-family question still divides farm income support.
Both schemes rest on direct benefit transfer, so a clean land record and a working bank account decide who gets paid. They also sit close to the debate on universal basic income, since the money comes with no condition on how it’s spent. The Telangana portal’s login is only for officials, so check your bank account first, then ask your Agriculture Extension Officer whether your land and bank details are on the payment list. Unresolved cases go to the District Collector.
Is there a Rythu Bharosa status check by Aadhaar?
Not on the Telangana portal. Andhra Pradesh’s Annadatha Sukhibhava portal does offer a Know Your Status search by financial year and Aadhaar number, and PM-KISAN has its own Aadhaar-based check.
When is the next Rythu Bharosa instalment?
