World History

World History sits in General Studies Paper I and is limited, by the syllabus itself, to events from the eighteenth century onwards — revolutions, industrialisation, colonisation and decolonisation, the world wars, and political philosophies.
The boundary is a gift, and it is routinely ignored. The syllabus asks for forms, features and effects rather than narrative detail, which means a question on decolonisation wants patterns across regions, not a chronology of one. Comparison is the natural answer structure here more than in Indian history.
